1. First Visit - Brief Paperwork
When you arrive for your first visit we will have some paperwork for you to complete. This will include all of your contact details, as well as any relevant medical aid details, and consent for us to treat you. Please try arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time to allow for this.
Once you have filled in the paperwork, you will have a consultation with Dr Allison to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.
3. History and Examination
In order to best determine and understand your problem, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition and general health. Following this he may perform some tests to assess the affected areas.
4. X-rays or Scans
If your specific condition requires x-rays or other imaging to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you, then you will be referred out for these. If the imaging is an urgent requirement before treatment we will send you immediately and postpone the balance of the initial appointment until they have been completed and the doctor is satisfied. If you have any existing relevant images please bring them along to your consultation.
5. Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the history and examination Dr Allison will discuss your treatment options with you and plan the best approach to improving your condition. You will then receive your first treatment session in the same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies (massage, dry needling, stretches, exercise, and ShockwaveTherapy).
